| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Off | The header scrolls away with the page. |

Build the main menu and mega menu
The header menu shows dropdowns for any menu item that has items under it.
- Two levels (for example Brakes > Brake pads): the dropdown shows a simple list.
- Three levels (for example Brakes > Pads and rotors > Brake pads): the dropdown becomes a mega menu with a column for each second-level item.
Every dropdown ends with a link to the top-level item, for example “Shop all Brakes”.
- In your Shopify admin, open your menus and edit Main menu.
- Add your top-level items, then drag items under them to nest them.
- Save the menu.
Add a promotion to a mega menu
A Menu promotion block adds an image card to one dropdown.
- In the Header section, click Add block and choose Menu promotion.
- In Menu item, type the title of the main menu item whose dropdown shows this promotion, for example
Brakes. It must match the menu item's title. - Add an Image (720 x 405px recommended), Eyebrow, Heading, Button label and Link.
- Choose a Color scheme and save.
If you leave Link empty, the card links to the menu item.
Add an announcement bar
Datum does not have a separate announcement bar. Use the Ticker band section instead: in the theme editor, click Add section in the header area and choose Ticker band. See Sections for its settings.

The country and language selectors are in the footer. They show automatically when you sell in more than one country or language. Set up countries and currencies in Settings > Markets, and languages in Settings > Languages.
To show currency codes next to prices, for example $10.00 USD, turn on Theme settings > Currency format > Show currency codes.
